Forced masking schoolchildren was cruel and unscientific, but so-called experts zealously demanded it.

I remember catching a lot of grief when I did an executive order banning school districts from forcing masks.

They never acknowledged harm due to forced masking

Graham Young and Damian Coory discuss what a 25% export tax would do to Australia's export gas industry. The profit margin on gas is around 23% so in principle it would mean most exporters would go out of business. So why would Greens and Independent senators be so keen on this tax if driving gas producers out of business isn't their intended aim? Especially as their case is based on assertions they must know are wrong.
